Dogs with a couple of long stretches of training are fit for identifying individuals infected with the coronavirus.

This was the result of an investigation by a German veterinary college.

Eight mutts from Germany’s military were prepared for just a week.

They were able to precisely recognize the infection with a 94% achievement rate.

This was a pilot program drove by the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover.

Researchers challenged the dogs to sniff out Covid-19 in the saliva of more than 1,000 healthy and infected people.

The result was astonishing.

“We think that this works on the grounds that the metabolic procedures in the body of an ailing patient are totally changed,” Maren von Koeckritz-Blickwede

Maren, a professor at the college said, “We feel that the Dogs can distinguish a particular smell.”

Dogs, which have a sense of smell around 1,000 times more delicate than people.

This could be employed to identify infected people at place, for example, air terminals, border crossing and games with the best possible training.

This is a great achievement and progress made in the fight against coronavirus.

The research was directed together with the German military, the Hannover Medical School and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Von Koeckritz-Blickwede said that the following stage will be to prepare Dogs to separate Covid samples from different ailments like flu.
